About Us

Husband, son and I in D.C.

My husband and I met in August 14, 1998 and were engaged two weeks later.  Our son came into our lives less than a year after that.   Husband and I learned how to be a married couple while learning to be a parent to a newborn at the same time.  I can tell you that a marriage in its early stages is much like raising a child.

We love traveling, watching sports, and lounging at the house together.  We are the typical family.  Sometimes as parents we make mistakes.  Sometimes we are picture-perfect parents.

I am a stay-at-home mom most days.  Other days I throw on the hat of book writer/family history researcher.  Being a mom is my full-time job right now.  I figure when Son turns 18, he can start having the independence an 18 year old deserves and I can start working.

Husband is still the man of my dreams.  I know it sounds corny, but he makes me so happy so many times a day.  His job title is Auto Technician.  He is ASE certified and has been working on cars since his teen years.  If you throw a tool in his direction, he will be the happiest man.  If you throw a video game at him, he will be the happiest boy.

Son is a dream child.  Even when he isn't acting like a dream child, he is still my dream come true.  When I was pregnant with him, I didn't know that my husband and I wouldn't be able to conceive again.  He is 12 and has a wonderful personality.  I think anyone would love to be around him because he is courteous, compassionate, and funny.  He loves baseball, basketball, video games, reading, and electronics.

As a family, we have grown up together.  We are best friends.  Son has input into Husband's and my life, because it is his life too.  Husband and Son allow me to share my time on this blog and I hope that there will be at least one blog post I do that may change your life for the better.  I hope to make you smile, ponder, choke up with tears, or get angry.  I don't want you to leave the blog without having any emotion whatsoever.
