Yesterday I wanted to play something with my son. I was game for playing Rummikub, Mario Party, Monopoly, or Scrabble. He looked at me and said, "Mom, we don't have a lot in common."
"What do you mean?"
"You don't like to play the game I like to play."
He's right. I don't like the shooting or racing video games. I could care less if they had ever been invented. M on the other hand chooses to play those games during his time limit.

It made me think back the time I was the fun of his life. We would go on walks together. When we still lived on Cape Cod, we would end up at the beach or driving to his favorite playground. As he got older, we would play video games together. We also loved playing other games.
Mr. Husband has a lot in common with M. They could play for hours. I love the fact that they enjoy playing together. However, it makes me realize how time has gone by. When he was younger, we had fun together. He had to grow up eventually and find out what he enjoyed. In a couple more years, he probably won't be living at home. There are so few years for us to really enjoy our children before the move on with their own lives.
