What I wish my older self would have told my younger self

I am only 36 years old.  I don't consider myself old, but realize I am not a youngster anymore either.  There are several things that I wish I would have known or cared about when I was younger to help my self now that I am older

Susan, keep exercising! My body would be so much healthier if I would have kept exercising.  Now, my back hurts and my heart rate goes up really fast when I do any sort of exercise.  If I would have kept walking at least a mile everyday and running up and down steps, I would probably still be able to do it now.  It is so important to move.  Of course, I move now so in another 20 years I can still be mobile

Susan, you are skinny!  I always thought I was fat.  I was overweight, but not obese or morbidly obese.  Wow, I wish I would have saw how wonderful my body was instead of always wanting to change it.  I definitely don't want to gain anymore weight, so I am trying to remember to follow my goals.

Susan, you don't need to be popular!  High school was MISERABLE for me.  I was the kid who could count my friends with both hands.  On the other hand, I couldn't count the cruel kids with hands or toes.  I was the brunt of many jokes.  However, I wish I wouldn't have cared what they said.  In the long run, the mean, cruel children don't matter.  In college, they either get the snot beat out of them or learn REALLY fast that no one likes them.  Their HS antics no longer work.   When you meet them later on in life, you find out that they are decent people who just wanted friends as well.    Once I got into college, life was good.  No one knew that I didn't have any friends in High School.  I had good friends that I still keep in contact with.

Susan, don't cheapen your body!  Whether it was wearing clothes I really shouldn't have, showing body parts to people that shouldn't have ever seen them, or kissing any guy who told me I was pretty and they loved me, I should have valued and respected my body more.

Susan, you are important!  Everyone needs to know how important they are.  I have people who really like me.  I wish I would have known what a great person I was when I was younger.

If I would have known everything I know now when I was younger, I probably wouldn't have made as many stupid decisions as I did when I was younger.

My wish for each younger person is to know that your life matters!  There are people that care about you.  Don't worry about the people in High School.  Most likely, you will only keep in contact with a few of the people that you care about.  The rest of them won't matter.

What do you wish you could tell your younger self?  What do you wish you could tell any younger person about life?
