On August 31st, I was at a Centrum Twitter Party learning how to keep myself healthy. The lucky prize was a half hour session with Valerie Waters, who is a fitness trainer to the stars (like Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley and Poppy Montgomery). I also won some Centrum vitamins and a few other wonderful prizes.

Yesterday was the day I had been looking forward to. At 4 pm, Valerie and I finally got to meet through SKYPE. I was a bit nervous seeing how I weigh as much as two of her stars put together. Valerie put me at ease right away. She is a normal human being just like the rest of us, except she knows how to get people in shape.
She asked me what my goals were. My ultimate goal is to get under 200 pounds and not be huffing and puffing when I get to the top of my 13 stairs. I explained how I want to be healthier for my 12 year old son too.
She then asked what I ate. I had a bowl of cereal and nothing else. I usually don't cook either. It isn't a good idea to wait all day to finally eat something because we can eat A LOT when we are feeling hungry. I need to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. I am supposed to make the food too.
She also noted that I probably wasn't drinking enough water. She was right.
You know how people are supposed to be 92% water or some crazy number like that. Lets just say I am made up primarily of Mountain Dew and sugar.
Valerie told me to start writing down what I write and email her weekly. I decided after talking with her, that I didn't want to make her feel like she was reading a novel, so I am going to eat well. I am not going to force her to read through 100 different desserts, nor am I going to lie about what I eat.
This whole water thing is great for exercise too since I have to run to the bathroom at least once every hour. Can you tell from this post that water=pee. She told me that it also helps us so we don't get bloated and it helps clear out our bodies. I am clear... that much I know.
I am one of those cardiovascular challenged people, so I have to start off slow. We agreed that 15 minutes of walking is a great way to start off for me. (I could have hugged her when she thought it was a great idea) I also need to do 5 strength building exercises a day.
Now, if she can get celebrities in better shape, I know she can help someone who hasn't seen the inside of a gym in a longtime. I am just clay in her hands at this point. I want to be 100 pounds thinner clay, but for the first time in over a year, I feel like I can do it again! I am not doing it alone, I have Valerie Waters watching over me.
My randomness: If I win the lotto, I am going to hire Valerie Waters. And a cook.
So, who wants to go with me and lose weight. I am one of the people who has to lose over 100 pounds. I know it isn't the first time I am asking you who wants to do it with me, but I hope to do it this time.
Drink at least 60 oz. of water a day. (which means running to the bathroom at least 8 times in a day... great exercise that you need to do... or it could get messy)
Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner (homemade meals... goodbye Applebees)
Walk for 15 minutes (without buying a Mountain Dew)
Do 5 strength building exercises (and it is alright to do squats in a chair)
Those goals are completely doable aren't they! Let's get our butts in shape (literally!)
