My husband, the pack rat

Yesterday I told my husband I was getting rid of all the clothes he hasn't worn in a long time.  He asks, "All of them?"

"Yes, all of them.  I said only the clothes you never wear."

"I don't want you to get rid of all of the clothes I don't wear.  I want some of them."

My logic was if you don't wear them, they don't need to clutter up the house and go into a box for the move.  His logic is he may wear them sometimes in the next 10 years.  I figure we can take the chance and buy him new clothes.

My problem packing is getting rid of Tupperware dishes that I have never used and may never use.  When I purchased them, I fully planned on using them.  I love Tupperware.  I keep telling myself that if I have never used it since I bought it, that I will never use it and should just get rid of it.

It is so hard getting rid of stuff, but I do not want to pack junk or stuff I will never use.  My dream is to have a clutter-free home when we move.

Are any of you pack rats?  How do you finally get rid of stuff you don't need, or do you store it like we have?
